Patna: The CBI on Saturday arrested Dr Ramjee Singh, President of Central council of Homoeopathy, a statutory body of the union health ministry to grant recognition to homoeopathic colleges and doctors, from a house at Janakpuri in New Delhi while accepting a bribe of Rs 20 lakhs from an applicant. Dr Harishankar Jha, a homoeopathy doctor present at the place, was also arrested.
According to a CBI press release, Dr Ramjee Singh had demanded money for putting a favourable inspection report for opening the proposed homoeopathy college. Dr Ramjee Singh’s clinic at Kadamkuan, Patna, was also raided by the agency.
