Patna: The COVID-19 cases climbed to 62,031 in Bihar on August 4, 2020, afternoon, with 2,464 more persons including 393 from Patna, 197 from Muzaffarpur, 120 from Katihar, 97 from Saran, 85 from Vaishali, 84 from Sitamarhi, 77 from Buxar, 75 from Begusarai, 69 from Nalanda, 69 from Purnia, 65 from East Champaran, 64 from Supaul, 63 from Bhojpur, 63 from Gaya, 58 from Khagaria, 52 from Munger, and 49 from Madhubani, testing positive to it during last 24 hours.
A total of 40,760 COVID patients have been declared cured till date in Bihar with the recovery rate being 65.71% while 2,252 patients were declared cured during last 24 hours.
The COVID death toll surged 349 with 13 new deaths being reported from different parts of the state during last 24 hours including five from Patna, three from Rohtas, and one each from Bhojpur and Samastipur. The COVID death toll has climbed to 54 in Patna, 30 in Bhagalpur, 23 in Gaya, 22 in Rohtas, 20 in Nalanda, 17 in Munger, 13 in Bhojpur, 13 in East Champaran, 13 in Muzaffarpur, 12 in Samastipur, and ten each in Begusarai and Darbhanga.
