Patna : Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases surged to 57,270 in Bihar on August 2, 2020, evening, with 2,762 more persons including 460 from Patna, 170 from Bhagalpur, 131 from Vaishali, 119 from Nalanda, 117 from Rohtas, 91 from Gaya, 90 from Katihar, 83 from East Champaran, 81 from Madhubani, 80 from Purnia, 75 from Gopalganj, 69 from Begusarai, 67 from Darbhanga, 66 from Buxar, 59 from Muzaffarpur, and 50 from Bhojpur, testing positive to it.
A total of 36,637 patients have been declared cured in the state till date. Altogether 1,164 patients were declared cured during last 24 hours.
The COVID-19 death toll, on the other hand, has climbed to 322 in Bihar including 45 in Patna, 30 in Bhagalpur, 22 in Gaya, 19 in Rohtas, 16 in Nalanda, 15 in Munger, 13 in East Champaran, 13 in Muzaffarpur, 12 in Bhojpur, and 11 in Saran.
Patna District has reported 9, 824 positive cases till date followed by 2,808 cases in Bhagalpur, 2,518 in Muzaffarpur, 2,385 in Nalanda, 2,300 cases in Gaya, 1,918 cases in Begusarai, 1,728 cases in Saran, and 1,673 cases in Bhojpur.
