New Delhi : The massive increase in the number of Coronavirus (COVID-19) patients getting cured continues in India racing past 11 lakh mark at 8 am on August 2, 2020, reaching 11,45,629, a record increase of 51,255 during last 24 hours, exceeding the number of active cases by 7,77,899. The number of active cases stands at 5,67,730.

On the negative side, COVID-19 death in India jumped to 37,364 on August 2 with 853 new deaths being reported from different parts of the country during last 24 hours including 322 from Maharashtra, 99 from Tamilnadu, 98 from Karnataka, 58 from Andhra Pradesh, 48 from West Bengal, 47 from UP, 26 from Delhi, and 23 from Gujarat. The COVID death toll crossed hundred mark in Assam on August 2, 2020.

The Coronavirus death toll break-up in India is : Maharashtra (15,316), Delhi (3,989), Tamilnadu (4,034), Gujarat (2,464), Karnataka (2,412), Uttar Pradesh (1,677), West Bengal (1,629), Andhra Pradesh ( 1,407), Madhya Pradesh (876), Rajasthan (690), Telengana (530), Haryana (428), Punjab (405), J&K (388), Bihar (309), Odisha (187), Jharkhand (113), Assam (101), Uttarakhand (83), Kerala (81),  Chhattisgarh (55), Puducherry (51), Goa (48), Tripura (23), Chandigarh (18), Himachal Pradesh (14), Ladakh (7), Meghalaya (5), Nagaland (5), Andaman & Nicobar (7), Arunachal Pradesh (3), Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu( 2), and Sikkim (1).

As far COVID patients getting cured goes, in Maharashtra 2,66,883 patients have been cured till date followed by 1,90,966 in Tamilnadu, 1,22,131 in Delhi, 76,614 in Andhra Pradesh, 53,648 in Karnataka, 51,334 in UP, 50,517 in West Bengal, 34,994 in Bihar, 31,442 in Assam, and 29,080 in Haryana.
