Patna : Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases rose to 54,508 in Bihar on August 1, 2020, afternoon, with 2,502 persons including 442 from Patna, 175 from Muzaffarpur, 128 from Begusarai, 112 from Gaya, 90 from Rohtas, 85 from Purnia, 83 from Nalanda, 76 from East Champaran, 73 from Bhagalpur, 71 from Khagaria, 71 from Samastipur, 66 from West Champaran, 63 from Vaishali, 50 from Bhojpur, 48 from Madhepura, and 47 from Madhubani testing positive to it. Patna DM Kumar Ravi has also tested positive to Coronavirus.
A total of 35,473 COVID-19 patients have been declared cured in the state till date with the recovery rate being 65.08%. Altogether 1,823 patients were declared cured during last 24 hours. The number of active cases in Bihar stands at 18,722.
Coronavirus death toll in Bihar has crossed three hundred mark reaching 312 on August 1 including 44 in Patna, 30 in Bhagalpur, 21 in Gaya, 17 in Rohtas, 16 in Nalanda, 15 in Munger, 13 each in Muzaffarpur and East Champaran, 12 in Bhojpur, 10 each in Begusarai, Samastipur, Darbhanga, Saran, and West Champaran,
