Saharsa : Unidentified miscreants shot dead a state level Kabaddi player Ankit Kumar, 18, on July 28, 2020, late night, near Pashupalan Colony under Sadar Police Station in Saharsa District in North Bihar. The assailants left their bike on the spot and escpaed. Police have also found a live cartridge and magazine in the hands of the deceased.
The incident has created a sensation in the area though have taken a few suspects under custody and quizzing them also inquiring into the incident. Ankit Kumar was a native of ward No 10 of village Jersen under Sattarkateya Block in Saharsa District. He lived in a rented house at Saharsa to study. Ankit’s brother Raushan Kumar has accused the so called friends of the deceased of killing him.
SDPO Prabhakar Tiwary said that the police had seized a bike from the place of occurrence and also identified the person who was driving it. The SDPO said police were quizzing some suspects. The SDPO claimed that police would soon crack the case.
