Ara : A woman was strangulated to death at her in-laws’ place in Anaith locality under Nawada police stati, Ara, in Bhojpur District, on July 27, 2020, late evening, just for a gold chain.
Police rushed to the spot and recovered the body and brought it over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem on July 28, 2020. The deceased was identified as Rita Devi, 26, wife of Amar Sah of Anaith locality. A named FIR was lodged with Nawada police station and police are investigating the matter.
SHO, Nawada police station, Sanjeev Kumar, quoting the FIR, said that ever since her marriage, Rita Devi was being tortured for a gold chain by her in-laws and when their demand could not be fulfilled, they strangulated her to death.
