Sitamarhi : The torrential rain for the last seventy two hours in north Bihar including Sitamarhi District and Nepal has thrown life out of gear. Major rivers like Bagmati, Lalbakeya, Jhim, Hardi, Marar, Adhawara Group, and Lakhandei are rising in Sitamarhi district.

The water of Adhawara Group of rivers’ water has overtopped Sitamarhi-Sursand and Sitamarhi-Parihar roads near village Kumma. The Rato river water is gushing into Shikhadi Bhittha village. The river Lakhadei water has overtopped Parsauni road near village Punaura. The Bagmati river water level too has constantly been rising near Dheng, Dubba Ghat, and Chandauli. But all the embankments are safe till the time of reporting.
Sitamarhi district administration led by DM Abhilasha Kumari Sharma is alert and and patrolling is underway on many embankments. The DM said the administration is fully geared up to face any flood like situation. She adviced the public to believe in official version not on rumours.
