Buxar : Some unidentified armed miscreants shot dead a 40 year old woman at Rajapur village under the same police station in Buxar District on July 20, 2020, late evening, when she had gone to the field along with her teenage daughter to attend call of nature.
When the villagers saw the body of woman in the field in the morning on July 21, 2020, they informed police. Police brought it over to Buxar Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. Her husband works in the Punjab and seldom visits the village. The reason behind the incident is still to be ascertained.
SHO, Rajpur police station, Rajneet Kumar Sinha, said that Manjharia Devi, wife of Bipendra Ram of Rajpur village, had gone to the field in the village along with her teenage daughter girl to attend the call of nature when some unidentified armed miscreants thrashed the teenage girl and shooed her away and took Manjharia Devi to a garden about a kilometer away in the village where they shot her dead and escaped from the scene. Her fear stricken daughter went to the village running and informed the villagers. Some villagers rushed towards the spot but dared not go forward as the entire area was filled with mud.
The SHO said that had the villagers informed the police on time, police would have taken action against the miscreants. He said that the miscreants had fired on the woman from point blank range and added that the police are investigating the matter.
