Ara : With the arrest of four members of a bike lifters’ gang including its mastermind, Bhojpur police on July 11, 2020, claim to have busted a gang of bike lifters. The arrested miscreants were identified as Pramod Kumar of Sarangpur village under Ara Muffassil police station, Mantu Kumar, Vikky Paswan, and Om Prakash Mahto of Chhotaki Singhai under Ara town police station in Bhojpur district. They were sent to jail after interrogation.
SHO, Ara Muffassil police station, Jyoti Kumari, said on July 11, 2020, that some unidentified miscreants had stolen a motorcycle from near the house of Vijay Kumar Ram at Babhnauli village under Ara Muffassil police station on July 5, 2020, and an FIR was lodged with the police station in this regard. She said that a police team was formed under her and SHO Ara town police station Janmjay Rai and the team, on a tip off, conducted raids and arrested four miscreants including the mastermind of the gang along with the stolen motorcycle.
SHO Jyoti Kumari stated that Om Prakash Mahto and Vikky Paswan had stolen motorcycle the bike from Babhnauli village under Ara Muffassil police station on July 5, 2020, and contacted Mantu Kumar who was instrumental in selling it at Rs 5,000 through Pramod Kumar. The arrested miscreants confessed their involvement in motorcycle theft during interrogation.
The SHO said that police arrested Mantu Kumar and Pramod Kumar and later arrested Om Prakash Mahto and Vikky Paswan on their revelation. Police also recovered the motorcycle from Sarangpur village. She stated that police were conducting raids to arrest other members of the gang.
