Bhabhua: Kaimur police arrested four cyber criminals for allegedly drawing Rs 11 lakh illegally from the bank account of an Assistant of Water Resources Department, Kaimur, Ravish Kumar Pandey. They had transferred the amount to 54 different Jan-Dhan account through Paytm. Police also seized six Android mobile phone, four motorcycles, a Computer and a laptop from their possession.
All the arrested miscreants belonged to Jamtara in Jharkhand. Police sent them to jail after interrogation and are also conducting raids at different places to arrest the mastermind of the gang Minhaz Ansari and Azmal Ansari.
Kaimur SP Dil Nawaz Ahmad on June 26, 2020, said that a senior Assistant in Water Resources Department, Mohania, Ravish Kumar Pandey, tried to draw Rs 10,000 from his bank account through ATM on May 8, 2020. Money was not drawn but the amount was shown deducted from his account. He tried to lodge complaint on the online number of the State Bank of India. He searched the said number on Google and found a number 7365091338. He contacted on this number and was asked to install anydesk application and get his money back immediately. He acted accordingly but he did not get back his money but Rs 11 lakh remained deducted from his account. He immediately lodged an FIR with police.
The SP further said that after institution of FIR, police swung into action and started investigating into the matter. He added that the Kaimur police with the help of their Jharkhand counterpart arrested four cyber criminals from Jamtara in Jharkhand after about one and a half- month of incident.
The SP stated that during interrogation, the miscreants confessed their involvement and revealed that they cheat people at the behest of Minhaz Ansari and Azmal Ansari. They also revealed that they had purchased fake SIM at Rs 8,000 and execute their plan of cheating people online. They also revealed that Rs 5,000 is paid to the account holder in whose account the amount is credited. They miscreants told police that hundreds of cyber criminals are active in Jamtara, the SP said.
