Ara : Three persons drowned to death at different places in Bhojpur district during last 36 hours. Police recovered the bodies and brought them over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.
Nand Kumar Singh of village Ghodpokhar under Udwantnagar police station in Bhojpur district drowned in Kumhari river on June 23, 2020, evening, when he was crossing the river with his cattle. Police fished out the body with the help of villagers and brought it over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.
SHO, Udwantnagar police station, said that Nand Kumar Singh of village Ghodpokhar had gone to the other side of river Kumhari for grazing his cattle on June 23, 2020, morning. He was returning home with the cattle in the evening the same day. He was crossing river Kumhari but did not know the depth of the river and was drowned.
In another incident, a youth slipped into a pond near Doodhnath Baba under Jagdishpur police station in Bhojpur district on June 24, 2020, morning, when he had gone there to attend call of nature. The villagers fished out the body and informed police. Police immediately rushed to the spot and recovered the body and brought it over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. The deceased was identified as Janardan Ram, 18, son of late Gulab Ram of East Mohalla Ward No 18 Chamartoli under Jagdishpur police station in Bhojpur district.
In yet another incident, a youth drowned into river Chher at village Randadiha under Shahpur police station on June 22, 2020, when he was taking a dip in the river. Police recovered the body on June 24 morning and brought it over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. The deceased was identified as Gautam Kumar Yadav, 19, son of Vinay Kumar Yadav of village Randadiha village.
SHO, Shahpur police station, said that Gautam Kumar along with his friends had gone to Chher river to take a dip on June 22, 2020. While taking bath in the river, he was swept away in the fast current of the river and drowned. His friends raised an alarm and hearing their cry, the villagers rushed to the spot and tried to locate the body the whole day and also next day but to no avail. They also tried on June 24 and this time they succeeded in fishing out the body and informed police.
