Bokaro (Jharkhand) :  To nurture the creative potential of the students, DPS Bokaro in Jharkhand organised an online competitions on creative writing, still photography performing arts from the last week of May 2020 to June 7 for the students of classes 1-12. The results were declared on June 22, 2020.

The online competitions included Poetry and Short Story Writing on the theme ‘Life with Corona’; Performing Arts: Instrumental, vocal and dance competition, on the theme ‘Corona versus Melody of Life’; Documentary Making on the theme ‘Life in Lockdown’ and Still Photography on the theme ‘Nature & Lockdown’. Over a thousand students of the school enthusiastically participated in the online competition showing their creativity.

The students were divided into four groups according to their grades. Group A (Classes 1-3), Group B (Classes 4-6), Group C (Classes 7-9), and Group D (Classes10-12).

The results:

In Poetry and Short Story Writing Competition

Group A – Apoorv Singh of class II/D stood first followed by Shashwat Raj of I/D while Naitik Raj of Class II/D and Akshaj Singh of III/B jointly secured the third position.

In Group B Abhilasha Gupta of V/C came first followed by Pranavi P Kashyap of VI/C while Akshara Singh of IV/E bagged the third position.

Group C Apurva Singh of VII/E came first, Ridhima Mishra VIII/A bagged second position while Himangi Singh of IX/B came third.

Group D Anushka Singh of class XII/D stood First and Amrita Raj of class XII/C came Second

Performing Arts

Dance

Group A Hiya Banerjee of class III/B; Group B Aaradhya Singh of class IV/A, and Group C Anushree Tripathy of class VII/E came first.

Song

Akshita Pathak of class IX/D came first.

 Instrumental

Trayaksh Bhattacharjee of class IX/C came first.

 Documentary Making

Group A Rijul Baid of class 1/C and in Group B Aniket Singh of class VI/D came first.

Still Photography

Group A Aarav Raj of class II/B, Group B Tri Nayona of class VI/A, Group C Avinandan Kumar of class IX/E, Group D Jatin Singh of class X/E came first.

Principal,  DPS Bokaro, A S Gangwar, congratulated the students for their enthusiastic contribution and appreciated their creative expressions even during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The competition re-established that art and expressions are permanent. The overwhelming response of the students is indeed heartening and I hope the competition has helped them keep the spark alive,” he added.
