Saharsa : Saharsa DM Kaushal Kumar and SP Rakesh Kumar on June 20, 2020, handed over two cheques worth Rs 36 lakh including Rs 25 lakh from CM Relief Fund and Rs 11 lakh as ex-gratia to Baby Devi, the widow of martyr Kundan Kumar, at village Aaran in Saharsa District in North Bihar. Kundan Kumar had attained martyrdom during a face off with Chinese troops in Galwan Valley in Ladakh on June 15, 2020.
The DM and SP also assured Baby Devi of more help as per the government directive. The DM asked Nimindra Yadav, father of Kundan Kumar, to contact him as and when required. DDC, Saharsa, Rajesh Kumar Singh, SDP, Sadar, Shambhunath Jha, DPRO Dilip Kumar Deo, and CO Akhilesh Kumar were also present on the occasion.
