Patna : New driving training schools would be opened in different districts for imparting training of skilled driving. Before driving, drivers would be trained to drive on track of driving training school. That apart, simulator-based driving training will be also imparted. Secretary, Transport Departmennt, Bihar Government, Sanjay Kumar Agarwal informed that training schools will be in conformity with standards and there would be all necessary equipment and resources related to LMV class vehicles.
Agarwal will hold a review meeting through video conferencing on June 19 with operators of functional legitimate driving training
schools across the state. During review, all schools not fulfilling standards of driving training schools and not having license and
infrastructures would be closed and action for cancelling their licenses would be initiated.
Transport Secretary Agarwal said that from point of view of road safety, it is necessary to train drivers for efficient driving. He said that due to lack of knowledge of traffic rules and skilled driving and training, drivers often commit minor and major mistakes leading to accidents.
Agarwal said that after getting training from Driving Training Schools, there will be less scope for wrongdoing by drivers while driving
on roads and this will also reduce road accidents. He informed that at present, there are 26 legitimate driving training schools in 16
districts of the state. Steps would be taken to open training schools in districts where there are no such driving training schools, he
said.
The Transport Secretary said that private individuals can also open driving training schools on certain conditions. He said that
qualified applicants will be given licenses. Agarwal gave instructions for formulation of Driving Training School
Scheme and it would be implemented soon. In addition to training on tracks in driving training school, simulator based training will also be given.
It is mandatory to keep simulators and simulator based training at all training schools. For this, a provision has been made to provide assistance amount if all legitimate motor driving training schools in the state purchase simulators.
