Saharsa : Saharsa police on June 10, 2020, claimed to have cracked the case of murder of Bhagalpur Litchi dealer Mohd Bittu Alam on June 8, 2020, night, under Saur Bazar police station, and that of Baidnathpur resident Raushan Kumar on June 1, 2020.
Giving this information at a presser on June 10, Saharsa SP Rakesh Kumar said that police have arrested four persons in connection with murder of Litchi dealer Mohd Bittu Alam and seized a countrymade Katta, one live cartridge, and mobile phones from their possession. SP Kumar said that he had constituted an SIT headed by SDPO Prabhakar Tiwary to crack Litchi trader murder case. The SIT tracked the assailants on the basis of surveillance of their mobile phones.
The four arrested criminals have been identifiedd as Mohd. Saheb, Mohd. Shamsher, Uday Kumar, and Ankush Kumar, SP Kumar said and added that police were conducting raids to arrest their other two accomplices.
SP Kumar said that police have also arrested three persons : Sanjiv Kumar, Puja Kumari, and Golu Kumar, in connection with murder of Raushan Kumar on June 1, 2020. Police had recovered the mutilated body on June 5, 2020, from Baidyanathpur Paper Mills campus five days after the murder. Raushan Kumar was allegedly killed due to his illegitimate relationship with a woman.
SDPO Prabhakar Tiwary, Circle Inspector Rajmani, SHO, Saur Bazar Police Station, Jaishankar Prasad, Incharge, Baidyanthpur Police Camp Sanjiv Kumar, besides Shivshankar Prasad were also present at the ptesser.
