Ara : A forty year old woman was shot dead by some armed miscreants at village Sewgar under Udwantnagar police station in Bhojpur district on June 10, 2020, morning.
Later, police brought the body over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. The deceased was identified as Devanti Devi, wife of Krishna Ram of Sewgar village. Old enmity is said to be the reason behind the murder. An FIR has been lodged with Udwantnagar police station in this regard and police are investigating into the incident.
SHO, Udwantnagar police station, Chandan Jha, said that two groups at Sewgar village clashed on June 10 morning over a route dispute at the village. Meanwhile, some armed miscreants shot at and injured Devanti Devi, wife of Krishna Ram of the village. The villagers rushed her to Ara Sadar Hospital but she succumbed to her injuries on way to the hospital.
It was said that an old enmity was going on in between two groups at the village and one group was trying for compromise but Devanti Devi was against it.
