Saharsa : Unidentified criminals shot dead Khagaria resident Amrit Raj at village Raghunathpur under Basnahi police station in Saharsa District in North Bihar on June 6, 2020, late evening, when he was going to some place on his bike. The criminals apparently shot at and critically injured Amrit Raj, a native of village Parsaha in Khagaria District, when he resisted their loot bid.
On getting information from the locals about the incident, Basnahi police reached the place of occurrence and rushed a seriously injured Amrit Raj to Primary Health Centre (PHC), Sonbarsa, where the doctor declared him brought dead. Police sent the body to Saharsa Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.
Police are investigating into the incident. Saharsa SP Rakesh Kumar confirmed the incident though he denied that the criminals killed Amrit Raj in their bid to loot his belongings.
It may be recalled here that a father-son duo of village Laliya was shot dead in the area in February 2020. Another member of that family was also killed soon after but police are yet to crack these cases.
