Patna : The number of Coronavirus (COVID-19) confirmed cases jumped to 4,096 in Bihar at 8.40 pm on June 2, 2020, with 47 more persons including 11 from Siwan, six from Madhubani, five each from East Champaran and Banka testing positive to it on the day. The new patients are in 13-60 year age group and local authorities are ascertaining their infection trail. In Patna, one case was reported from Chhoti Pahari. In all, 151 persons tested positive to Coronavirus in Bihar on June 2, 2020.
Twenty-four persons have died due to Coronavirus in Bihar till date. The 24th death due to Coronavirus was reported in Bihar on June 2, 2020, from Sitamarhi District.
A total of 1,803 patients have been cured in Bihar. So far, a total of 95,526 patients have been cured of COVID-19. The recovery rate is 48.07% among COVID-19 patients. India’s recovery rate continues to increase and the fatality rate is one amongst the lowest in the world. As on June 2, 2020, the fatality rate is 2.82%.
The population of India and the total population of 14 most affected countries are almost the same. Despite a similar population, as on June 1, 2020, the total cases in those 14 most affected countries is 22.5 times that of India. The total deaths occurred due to COVID-19 in those 14 most affected countries is 55.2 times that of India, according to a PIB release.
In Siwan District in North Bihar, four cases were reported from Barhariya, four from Jiradei, two from Bargania, and one from Raghunathpur. In Banka District in eastern Bihar, three cases were reported from Belhar and one each from Shambhuganj and Fullidumar. In East Champaran District in North Bihar, four cases were reported from Kalyanpur and one from Adapur.
In Madhubani District in North Bihar, three cases were reported from Khutauna, two from Madhepur, and from Jhanjharpur. In Kaimur District, four cases were reported from Ramgarh and one from Bhabhua. In Begusarai District in North Bihar, two cases were reported from Dandari. In Vaishali District in North Bihar, two cases were reported from Bhagwanpur and one from Vaishali town. In Muzaffarpur, one case was reported from Mushahari. Two cases each were reported from Gaya and Jehanabad districts.
