Patna: Bihar Government has decided to utilise the buses of Bihar State Road Transport Corporation (BSRTC) for creating awareness about novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) across the state through attractive emoji and slogans pasted on these vehicles. State Transport Secretary Sanjay Kumar Agarwal informed that all public transport vehicles have been granted permission to run in the state since June 1, 2020, and the BSRTC has made special preparations to utilise these buses to inform the people how to check the spread of COVID-19.
Agarwal said that stickers and slogans regarding prevention of COVID-19 would be pasted both inside and outside these buses. Besides,
pamphlets will be distributed among passengers through district administration, he said, adding that works for putting these stickers
on buses are going on.
Agarwal inspected Bankipur bus stand on June 1, 2020, and directed DTO, MVI, Bus Depot Manager, all drivers /conductors to follow the guideline issued by Transport Department to check spread of Coranavirus  infection during the journey. He said that buses, autos, e-rickshaw, taxi, Ola, Uber have started operating in the districts including Patna since June 1. He said that about 200 buses resumed operation from Patna and added that at present plying of buses have been allowed within the state. For inter-state operation, consent would have to be taken from other states and after that inter-state plying of buses would start, he added.

Agarwal said that instructions have been given to DMs and SPs of all districts for ensuring protocols related to social distancing and
cleanliness in buses. He said that public transport has been started for peoples’ convenience.
