New Delhi : The number of patients recovering from Coronavirus (COVID-19) jumped to 51,783 in India at 8 am on May 23, 2020, an increase of 3,250 during the last 24 hours. Coronavirus death toll has jumped to 3,720 in India, an increase of 137 during last 24 hours. The situation continues to be grim in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh (MP), West Bengal, Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Tamilnadu.
Coronavirus death toll break-up is: Maharashtra (1,517), Gujarat (802), MP (272), West Bengal (265), Delhi (208), Rajasthan (153), UP (152), Tamilnadu (98), Andhra Pradesh ( 55), Telengana (45), Karnataka (41), Punjab (39), J&K (20), Haryana (16), Bihar (11), Odisha (7), Assam (4), Kerala (4), Chandigarh (3), Jharkhand (3), Himachal Pradesh (3), Meghalaya (1), and Uttarakhand (1).
On the positive side, 12,583 patients have been cured in Maharashtra while 5,897 patients have been cured in Delhi. In Gujarat, 5,880 patients have recovered while 3,089 patients have recovered in MP. In Punjab 1,847 patients have been cured while in Rajasthan 3,680 patients have recovered. In Tamilnadu, 7,128 patients have been cured while in Telengana 1,043 patients have recovered. In UP, 3,238 patients have been cured. In West Bengal, 1,221 patients have recovered.
