Ara : An 55 year old man was killed in a violent clash between two groups at village Bimari under Shahpur police station in Bhojpur district in the wee hour on May 22, 2020.
Police recovered the body and brought it over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. Police have arrested the main accused. The deceased was identified as Janardan Singh, son of late Ram Kapil Singh of village Bimari under Shahpur police station. Land dispute was said to be the cause behind the incident. A named FIR has been lodged with Shahpur police station in this connection against four persons including Jawahar Singh of the same village.
SHO, Shahpur police station, Avinash Kumar said that Janardan Singh worked in a private firm in New Delhi and had returned to his native village Bimari along with his son due to lockdown. Meanwhile, two groups clashed over the issue construction of a Septic tank near the house of Janardan Singh in which he was seriously injured in the wee hour on May 22, 2020. Family members rushed him to Ara Sadar Hospital but he succumbed to his injuries on way to the hospital.
The SHO said that a named FIR has been lodged with Shahpur police station against Jawahar Singh, his wife, son, and daughter in tis connection. Police arrested the main accused Jawahar Singh and sent him to jail, the SHO said. He said that the police are investigating the matter.
