Patna : novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) confirmed cases jumped to 1,442 in Bihar on May 19, 2020, morning, with 19 more persons including three each from Gaya, Nawada, and Supaul districts and two each from Sheikhpura, Madhepura, and Kaimur Districts testing positive to the disease. Nine persons have died due to Coronavirus in Bihar till date.

In Gaya, all the three cases were reported from Atri while in Supaul District one case each was reported from Basantpur, Ratauli, and Raghopur taking the total to 27 in the district. In Madhepura District, one case each was reported from Shreepur and Sukhasan taking the total to 22 in the district.

In Nawada, all the three cases were reported from Nawada Town while in Sheikhpura one case each was reported from Surdaspur and Gagaur. In Kaimur, two cases were reported from Mokari. One case each was also reported from Bairi (Buxar), Shakurabad (Jehanabad), Jitwarpur (Samastipur),  and Barh (Patna).

Meanwhile, Coronavirus death toll surged to 3,163 in India on at 8 am on May 19, 2020, with 134 new  deaths being reported from different parts of the country since May 18 morning. But, the number of patients getting cured/discharged is also rising fast reaching 39,173 on May 19, 2020, an increase of 2,340 since May 18.

The death toll break-up is : Maharashtra (1,249), Gujarat (694), MP (252), West Bengal (244), Delhi (168), Rajasthan (138), UP (118), Tamilnadu (81), Andhra Pradesh (50), Karnataka (37), Punjab (37), Telangana (35), J&K (15), Haryana (14),  Bihar (9), Odisha (4), Kerala (4), Chandigarh (3), Himachal Pradesh (3), Jharkhand (3), Assam (2), Meghalaya (1), Puducherry (1), and Uttarakhand (1).

Globally, Coronavirus death toll has surged to 90,353 in USA and 34,876 in UK. The COVID-19 death toll in Italy stands at 30,007.
