Motihari : East Champaran district Magistrate Shirshat Kapil Ashok and SP Naveen Chandra Jha on May 16, 2020, sustained minor injuries in a freak accident on NH-28 at village Kotwa when they were en route Dumariaghat to inspect a quarantine centre. Both the top officials escaped with minor injuries but three police personnel sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Motihari Sadar hospital for treatment.
SP Jha sustained minor injuries on his neck and head when the SUV in which both the two top officials were heading towards quarantine centre was rammed by another vehicle following it.
The eyewitnesses said that the DM’s SUV in which both the officials were travelling suddenly applied brake to save a stray dog. The incident was so instant that SP’s official’s vehicle dashed DM’s vehicle from behind while his vehicle was rammed by another vehicle escorting both the officials. Piprakothi police and ambulance immediately rushed to the spot and rushed all the injured to Motihari Sadar hospital. SP Jha confirmed the incident saying he received injuries on his neck.
