Patna : Forty-six persons including 18 in Banka, nine in Sheikhpura, seven in Jamui, and 5 in Patna districts, tested positive to Coronavirus (COVID-19) on May 16, 2020, taking the total to 1,079 in Bihar. The 46 new COVID-19 patients are in 2- 5o year age group and include two women. Seven persons have died to Coronavirus in Bihar till date.
Of the 18 Coronavirus cases from Banka District, 8 cases were reported from Dhoraiya, six from Rajaun, three from Katoria, and one from Belhar taking the total to 32 in this Eastern Bihar district. Three confirmed cases were also reported from Katihar District, one each from Manihari, Sona Khal, and Bishanpur. Of the nine cases from Sheikhpura District, two cases were reported from Daudpur Etawa, and one each from Etahara, Chorwar Ariari, Kusumbha, Baraiya Bigha, latkan, Ariari, Belchhi Ariari, and Baikathpur taking the total to 21 in the district.
Of the five cases from Patna District, four cases were reported from BMP-14, Khajpura, Patna, and one from Bakhtiyarpur taking the total to 105 in the district. In Aurangabad District, two cases were reported from Aurangabad Town . One confirmed case was reported from Jagdishpur in Munger District taking the total to 123 in the district. In Jamui District, six confirmed cases were reported from Chitochak, Jhaja, and one from Jhajha. One case was also reported from Samastipur District in North Bihar.
