Ara : Police, on a tip off, arrested two miscreants from village Newari under Agiaw police station in Bhojpur district on May 14, 2020, evening, during a raid. Police also seized a .315 clibre countrymade pistol, 11 live cartridges, and a Bolero during the raid.

Later, police sent them to jail after interrogation. The arrested miscreants were identified as Sanjay Yadav, brother of a notorious  criminal Sabha Yadav of village Inratpur under Hasan Bazaar police outpost, and his brother-in-law (saala) Upendra Yadav of Araila village under Tier police station in Bhojpur district. They were wanted in a number of criminal cases.

Bhojpur SP Sushil Kumar said that villagers informed him on May 14, 2020, that a Bolero was moving in Newari village under Agiaw police station aimlessly. He immediately asked the Station House Officer (SHO), Agiaw police station, Furqan Ahmad, to conduct raids at village Newari. The SHO along with police force conducted raids at Newari village and arrested Sanjay Yadav and Upendra Yadav and   also seized the Bolero in which they were moving at the village. Police seized one .315 calibre countrymade pistol and 11 live cartridges from the vehicle. The SP stated that a number of criminal cases are pending against the two arrested criminals with different police stations in Bhojpur district.

Villagers said that Sanjay Yadav and Upendra Yadav had also threatened them  at pistol points on May 14, 2020, evening but the villagers caught them and informed police. It was said that Upendra Yadav was injured during clash with the villagers but the officials did not confirm the incident.

Bhojpur SP said that police had arrested five liquor smugglers including Arvind Yadav along with a big consignment of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) on March 16, 2020.
