Patna : Altogether 120 persons tested positive to Coronavirus (COVID-19) on May 12, 2020, taking the total to 879 in the state. Forty-nine persons in 2-48 year age group tested COVID-19 positive to the disease including 16 in Jehanabad, 12 in Nalanda, 11 in Patna, and two each in Nawada, Samastipur, and Sheikhpura, late on May 12 night, according to the 5th update issued by Health Department, Bihar Government.
Of the 16 COVID-19 confirmed cases from Jehanabad, six were reported from Kako, two each from Saidabad, Sakurabad, and Sarta taking the total to 23 in the district. In Nalanda District, six confirmed cases were reported from Rahui, 3 from Hilsa, two from Wena, and one from Nalanda taking the total to 63 in the district.
Of the 11 confirmed cases from Patna, six were reported from Paliganj, three from Pandarak, and two from Barh taking the total to 90 in the district. Munger district tops the list reporting 116 COVID-19 confirmed cases followed by Rohtas with 72 confirmed cases. Buxar district accounts for 56 confirmed cases while Begusarai has reported 40 such cases. Siwan and Kaimur districts have reported 34 and 32 COVID-19 confirmed cases respectively. Madhubani District has reported 30 such cases while khagaria has reported 27 cases.
Bhagalpur district has reported 26 confirmed cases while West Champaran has reported 25 confirmed cases. East Champaran district has reported 14 confirmed cases while Darbhanga has reported 16 cases. Coronavirus death toll stands at 6 in Bihar.
Meanwhile, Coronavirus death toll jumped to 2,415 in India on May 13, 2020, morning, including 921 in Maharashtra, 537 in Gujarat, 225 in MP, 198 in West Bengal, 117 in Rajasthan, 86 in Delhi, 82 in UP, 61 in Tamilnadu, 46 in Andhra Pradesh, 32 each in Punjab and Telanagana, 31 in Karnataka, 11 in Haryana, 10 in J&K, 4 in Kerala, and 3 each in Odisha and Jharkhand. The COVID-19 death toll was 2,293 on May 12, 2020, evening. The number of patients cured/discharged stands at 24.385.
