Patna : Coronavirus (COVID-19) confirmed cases increased to 589 in Bihar at 5 pm on May 9, 2020, with 15 more persons including three from Muzaffarpur District and two from Nalanda Districts testing positive to the disease. With this Muzaffarpur District has joined the Coronavirus affected districts in Bihar. Five persons have died due to the disease in Bihar so far.
Three men from Mushahari in Muzaffarpur District in North Bihar, all migrant persons from other state, tested Coronavirus positive on May 9, 2020. They are in 14-31 year age group. The local authorities are looking into their infection trail.
One person each from Ekangarsarai and Harnaut in Nalanda District also tested Coronavirus positive on the day taking the total of such active cases to 38 in the district. A 24 year old man from Barharia in Siwan District and a 36 year old man from Kurtha in Arwal District also tested Coronavirus positive on May 9, 2020.
It may be mentioned here that five males from Kharjpura, Patna, had tested Coronavirus positive on May 8, 2020, late night. They are in 30-57 year age group. All the five patients are BMP Jawans, according to Principal Secretary, Health, Bihar Government, Sanjay Kumar. The Government is ascertaining their infection trail, said Kumar. Meanwhile, for the first time licences have been issued to manufacture hand sanitisers in Bihar.
