Bhabhua : Kaimur police, during patrolling, arrested three drug peddlers and seized over 40kg of Ganja worth about Rs 9 lakh on May 5, 2020. Police also seized 15 litre of countrymade liquor, two mobile phones and a motorcycle with police sticker from their possession.

The arrested drug peddlers were identified as Akhilesh Ram and Dina Kumar of village Sijhua under Ramgarh police station and Baban Singh of village Pakauli under Ramgarh police station in Kaimur district.

Kaimur SP Dil Nawaz Ahmad said that he got information that some drug peddler and liquor smugglers are smuggling Ganja and liquor from Aghaura village in Kaimur district taking advantage of lockdown. He immediately formed a police team under SHO, Bhagwanpur police station, Rakesh Kumar Roushan.

The SP added that police cordoned off the jungle around Hanuman ghat. Police located three youth on two motorcycles and intercepted them and when they were searched, police seized 16.5 kg of Ganja, 15 litre of countrymade liquor and a motorcycle with police sticker though one of the youth escaped from the scene. The arrested drug peddlers were identified as Akhilesh Ram and Dina Kumar.

During interrogation, the arrested drug peddlers confessed that they were carrying the Ganja on the direction of Baban Singh and Binod Singh of Pakauli village under Ramgarh police station. On their revelation, police conducted raid at Pakauli village and arrested Baban Singh along with 24 kg of Ganja. The SP stated that police are conducting raids to arrest Binod Singh.
