Ara : Police arrested eight persons including an armyman on May 5, 2020, evening, in connection with murder of two brothers at village Mahakampur Bara under Ara Muffasil police station in Bhojpur district earlier on May 4, 2020, evening.
SHO, Ara Muffasil police station, said that some armed miscreants shot dead two brothers: Hari Shankar Yadav, 35, and Triloki Shankar Yadav, 22, at village Mahakampur Bara under Ara Muffasil police station on May 4, 2020, late evening, as they were witnesses in a case.
The SHO said that two groups of the villagers had clashed over door to door drinking water scheme at Mahakampur Bara village few months ago in which Yamuna Yadav was injured and a case was lodged in this connection with police. Triloki Shankar Yadav and Hari Shankar Yadav were witnesses in the case and they had deposed before the court.
Angry over it, some miscreants clashed with members of a group and injured Shiv Shankar Yadav while Munshi Yadav and Mohar Yadav of another group were also injured in the clash. Later, they shot dead Triloki Shankar Yadav and his brother Hari Shankar Yadav and escaped from the place.
An FIR was lodged with Ara Muffasil police station in this regard and police started investigation into the incident and also conducting raids to arrest the miscreants. The armyman is in military service for the last 19 years and was posted in Rajasthan at the time incident.
Police got information that one of the main accused Vijyendra Yadav, an armyman, of village Mahakampur Bara was seen at Gyanpur village under Koelwar police station. So a police force under the Sub-Inspector Prashant Kumar was sent there to arrest him. Seeing the police, Vijyendra Yadav and his family members pelted them with stones in which an SI Prashant Kumar was injured but police somehow arrested the army man. Later, the SI was admitted to Ara Sadar Hospital.
The SHO said that police are conducting raids to arrest some other persons involved in brickbatting and firing. A separate named FIR was lodged with Ara Muffasil police station against the armyman in connection with attack on police force.
