Sitamarhi : The Shramik special train from Ahmedabad (Gujarat) arrived at Sitamarhi railway station carrying 1,159 migrant workers on  May 6, 2020, early morning. The migrants were in upbeat mood.

The Platform Number 1 on which the special train arrived was decorated with flowers and balloons. The migrant workers were given a rousing welcome and food packets and water bottles were supplied to them.
Sitamarhi DM Abhilasha Kumari Sharma, SP Anil Kumar, and other senior officials were present at the station. Masks were distributed among unmasked people. While maintaining social distancing and sanitisation process, a list of workers was prepared too including their mobile numbers. Thermal screening of the workers by a large contingent of medical team was performed.
Altogether 1,075 migrant workers from Sitamarhi and Sheohar districts in North Bihar were sent by bus to their respective several block and Punchayat level quarantine centers. The remaining 84 workers of East Champaran, West Champaran, and Gopalganj districts too were sent by buses following social distancing. Sitamarhi district the administration has set up 1,224 Punchayat and 73 block level quarantine centers with all  facilities.
