Dhanbad (Jharkhand) : Almost all the 1,175 migrant labourers of Jharkhand who reached Dhanbad Railway station in Jharkhand by a special train 06081 Kozhikode–Dhanbad on May 4, 2020, noon, after a 41 hour journey, broke down crying like child, kissing the ground, thanking Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren, and administration for giving new lease of life to them.
The train with 24 coaches had left Kozhikode, Kerala, on May 2, 2020, at 19.35pm and reached here on May 4. Dhanbad Deputy Commissioner (DC) Amit Kumar along with Senior superintendent of Police (SSP) Akhilesh B Warrior along with dozens of other officials, doctors, and medical staffs were present at the station to receive the labourers. All the labourers were first medically (thermal) screened and then were taken to Dhanbad Golf Ground from where they were sent to their homes on small vehicles where they will be quarantined for 14 days.
Awadh Behari Ram, Vijay Tirkey, R K Singh, and several other workers thanked the administration for bringing them home free of cost providing for food and other facilities.
