Ara : Bhojpur police on May 1, 2020, recovered body of a youth from village Pratappur under Sandesh police station in Bhojpur District and brought it over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. The deceased was identified as Kamta Singh, son of Dev Nandan Singh of Pratappur village.
An FIR has been lodged with Sandesh police station and the police are investigating into the incident. SHO, Sandesh police station, said that the villagers informed him on May 1 morning that body of a youth was hanging from a tree at Pratappur village after which he rushed to the spot and recovered the body. He said that Kamta Singh committed suicide by allegedly hanging himself to the tree. He was a labourer and earned two square meal for his family daily. The SHO further said that police are investigating whether he committed suicide or someone killed him and hanged his body to the tree to erase evidence. He added that the reason behind the incident is still to be ascertained.
