Chas (Jharkhand) : Books were distributed among students of  classes (Nursery to XI) on DPS Chas school campus in Bokaro District in Jharkhand on April 27, 2020, complying with the directive of district administration to maintain social distance to check the spread of novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).

For the convenience of guardians, books and stationeries were packed in waterproof packages with time slots given for smooth delivery at two counters opened for the purpose for which advance notifications and messages were sent to the students and their parents  few days back.

Earlier, the school was one of the first in the city to begin online admissions for XI based on pre board marks and annual examinations for other classes and online classes from the first day of the session during the lockdown catering to the holistic education of the children with a time-table for students. The daily routine for the students include prayer, yoga, physical exercise, domestic chores, curiosity space, and creativity time.

In an atmosphere where COVID -19 pandemic has disturbed human lives, the school, parents, and students acknowledge and appreciate the initiative taken by the District Administration under the supervision of SDM, to ensure that the students get the books without being exposed to the disease. It was made compulsory for all to maintain social distancing, wear masks, and get sanitised. Gathering or crowding was strictly prohibited. Only one parent was allowed to come to collect the book packet.  Parents adhered to the schedule and cooperated in the smooth conduct of the sale of books.

Speaking on the occasion, DPS Chas Officiating Principal P Shailaja Jaya Kumar said that the school is trying its best for the smooth conduct of online classes for the students and delivery of books to the guardians for which time slot was allotted and prior information was given. “We  maintained social distance as per administration’s guidelines,” she said.
