Ara : Bhojpur SP Sushil Kumar on April 21, 2020, suspended police constable Rajeev Kumar with immediate effect for allegedly bringing a Coronavirus positive patient from Balia in Uttar Pradesh (UP) to Rampur in Bhojpur. The SP has also sent a proposal to Bhojpur DM for dismissal of a Homeguards personnel Surendra Singh, uncle of Coronavirus Positive patient cum driver, who had helped him in bringing the patient to Bhojpur from Balia. The SP has already suspended the MT Sergeant for the same reason.
SP Sushil Kumar said that the person who had come to Rampur under Krishnagarh police station under Barhara block in Bhojpur district from New Delhi via Kanpur and Balia and was found CoronaVirus positive after pathological examination. His uncle, a Homeguard personnel and driver, along with police constable helped him reach Rampur from Balia. He said that both taking advantage of police uniform received the youth at Balia and brought him to Bhojpur crossing Uttar Pradesh border but they did not bother to inform the senior officials of Bhojpur District.
Meanwhile, Bhojpur SP Sushil Kumar got thermal scanning of all police officers done by police doctors and got the police offices sanitised.
