Bokaro (Jharkhand) : A middleage woman of village Telo under Chandrapura block in Bokaro District in Jharkhand tested positive for Covid-19 on April 5, 2020. The sample of the woman was sent for test on April 1, 2020, to Rajendra Institute of Medical Science (RIMS), Ranchi, after she developed symptoms of the disease. The test report was received on April 5. With it, the number of Coronavirus confirmed cases increased to three in Jharkhand.
Official sources informed that three couples of Telo village had gone to Dhaka (Bengladesh) on March 15, 2020, and returned to Telo on March 29, 2020, via West Bengal. Soon after returning from there, the woman complained of high fever and dry cough after which she was sent to Bokaro for medical treatment and her sample was sent for Covid -19 test to RIMS. She was kept at an isolated ward at BGH hospital, Bokaro, for medical treatment.
Confirming that that the woman had tested positive for COVID-19, Bokaro DC Mukesh Kumar stated,” We are tracing the travel route and all the persons with whom the lady had come into contact.” The entire village has been quarantined and best medical team comprising experts and medical staffs are doing the needful,” the DC added. “We are taking all measures to check the spread of the disease,” DC Kumar said.
