Ranchi (Jharkhand) : Sukhdev Singh, a 1987 batch Jharkhand cadre IAS officer and Development Commissioner also holding additional charge of Additional Chief Secretary Home Department, has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary of the state. A notification to this effect has already been issued by Personnel & Administrative Reforms Department, Jharkhand Government.
Sukhdev Singh will assume charge of the post on April 1, 2020. The present Jharkhand Chief Secretary Devendra Kumar Tiwary will retire on March 31, 2020. Tiwary is a 1986 batch IAS officer.
Sukhdev Singh will retire on March 31, 2024. Talking to this reporter on phone after the official notification was issued, he said that he will deliver his best for the state leaving no stone unturned for the prosperity and development of Jharkhand.
