Saharsa :  SP Rakesk Kumar on March 27, 2020, walked down the roads and streets of Saharsa to inspect the compliance of lockdown in the town. The Saharsa SP visited almost all the roundabouts in the town and said that the people were complying with the lockdown and are quite alert.

The SP said that the Saharsa residents were coming out of their houses only to buy essential commodities. He said that police were dealing with blackmarketeers strictly. He said that  the district administration faced some problems in enforcing the lockdown on day 1 on March 25, 2020, and police even had to use force to implement it. But, after that the people were following the lockdown. Police do not want to use force unnecessarily, SP Kumar said.

The SP said that during last three days 50 vehicles had been seized fine worth Rs 15 lakh were imposed on the vehicle owners. Five persons were arrested too but were released later,  SP Kumar said. He said that from March 27, 2020, all the grocery shops, vegetable shops, and medical stores will remain open from 6 am to 6 pm. The SP said that two disaster relief camps had been opened in Saharsa town.
