Patna : Saurashtra won their maiden Ranji Trophy title defeating Bengal in the final on Day 5 on March 13, 2020, at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Rajkot, on the basis of first innings lead. Saurashtra were all out for 425 in 171.5 overs in their first innings while Bengal were all out for 381 in their first innings in 161 overs.
Saurashtra, who were playing their fourth final in last 8 years, were 105/4 in 34 overs in their second innings losing the wickets of openers Harvik Desai (21), and Avi Barot (39), Vishwaraj Jadeja ( 17), and Arpit Vasavada (3), when play ended in a mutually agreed draw. Shahbaz Ahmed took 2/32 in 14 overs. Cheteswar Pujara did not bat in second innings.
Saurashtra captain Jaydev Unadkat received the Ranji Trophy. He touched the pitch in respect after the match ended. Arpit Vasavada, who scored 106 in Saurashtra first innings, was declared Player of The Match.
