Ara: An army personnel Raj Kishore Singh, who was injured in the attack on Uri base camp in Jammu and Kashmir by terrorists on September 18, 2016, succumbed to his injuries at the R R Hospital in New Delhi in the afternoon on Thursday. With his death, Bhojpuri district lost its second brave son in the incident. As the news of his death reached here, people who were celebrating the surgical strike by the Indian army, were shocked. They demanded more surgical strike in Pakistan by the Indian army.

On Saturday, the army officials from Danapur will bring the body of the martyr to his native village Piparpati under Barahara block in Bhojpuri district. His last rites will be performed at Mahulaghat on Saturday. The injured army personnel were admitted to a hospital in Srinagar. After three days, Raj Kishore Singh was brought over to New Delhi and was admitted to the R R Hospital.

Raj Kishore Singh, son of late Vishnu Singh, an army personnel of Piparpati village, joined army in 2001 and was married to Kanchan Devi of Mauzampur village under Krishnagarha police station under Barahra block in 2003. He has left behind an eight year old son Hemant and six year old daughter Suhani. He was the youngest son of Vishnu Singh. His eldest brother Beni Madhav Singh is in Assam Rifle while the second brother Ashok Singh in also in army as Nayak Subedar in Silligurhi. One of his nephews is also in the army.

Beni Madhav Singh said that Raj Kishore Singh was sweet natured and was interested in military service since his childhood to continue the tradition of his family. Having a good physique, he was selected for army service immediately. He said that the family members got the information of his death from mobile on Thursday afternoon.

Cries of Raj Kishore Singh’s wife Kanchan and his mother, who live at Vijay Nagar, Gausganj near Gangi under Town Police Station, Ara, rent the air. Gloom descended in Piparpati and Mauzampur villages after the death of Raj Kishore Singh reached his native village and his ‘sasural’ respectively.
