Bokaro (Jharkhand) : Adding another feather to her cap, noted educationist and former chairperson of State Commission for Women, Jharkhand, and present chairperson of Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT), New Delhi, Dr Hemlata S Mohan along with ace shuttler and reigning World Champion P V Sindhu, TMC MP Mahua Moitra, Chairperson, Commission for Women, Delhi, Swati Maliwal, figure among the 25 most powerful women of the country in a survey conducted jointly by Fame India magazine and Asia Post on ten benchmarks about women who played important role in empowerment of women shaping up the society in 2019.
The list includes Chairperson, International Women Conference and international spiritual teacher Bhanumati Narsimhan, BBC India Head Rupa Jha, Maharashtra Independent MP Navnit Rana, noted art ambassadors Ruhani sisters, Himachal Pradesh social worker Mallika Nadda, along with senior IAS Sonal Goel, and senior Indian Revenue Service officer Seema Raj.
The others in the list are : ABP news anchor Rubika Liaqat, Raja Sabha business journalist Sonia Singh, Supreme court lawyer Seema Samridhi, country first woman Navy lieutenant Shivangi, Indian army captain Tanya Shergil, women empowerment and child welfare crusader Dr Barkha Varsha, noted social worker and founder of famous organisation People against Rape in India (PARI) Yogita Bhyana, Bihar police officer and present Additional Commssioner, Patna Municipal Corporation, Sheela Irani, founder member of Naad organization Nishi Singh, noted social activist working for conservation of water Sarika Baheli, Maithali E-paper editor Kumud Singh, noted Hindi poetess Dr Mansi Dwivedi, and noted scholar Dr Shikha Rani.
Talking to this scribe, Dr Hemlata S Mohan said that she is indeed happy to know that her name figures among the 25 powerful women in India. “But this comes as a challenge too that is to keep doing the best for the society and upliftment of women besides working in the field of art, culture and education. Women play positive role in giving positive shape to society and country and so empowerment of women is must for any development and progress of any society,” said Dr Mohan.
