Patna : Kenta Nishimoto, 25, Japan, has jumped three places to be ranked World No 13 with 52,483 points in Badminton World Federation (BWF) rankings released on January 28, 2020, after finishing runner-up at Thailand Masters, an HSBC BWF World Tour Super 300 event at Bangkok, Thailand, on January 26,2020.

Kento Momota, 25, Japan, remains World No 1 with 1,11,918 points while Chou Tien Chen, 30, Taiwan,, also remains static at World N0 2 with 80,548 points. Viktor Axelsen, 26, Denmark, is World No 3 with 77, 168 points. Reigning Olympic Champion Chen Long, 31, China, is World No 4 while Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, 23, Indonesia, is World No 5. N G Ka Long Angus, 25, Hong Kong, remains World No 9 despite winning the Thailand Masters title last week defeating Kenta Nishimoto.

Kidambi Srikanth, 26, India, has slipped 1 place to be ranked World N0 15 with 52,110 points. Srikanth had lost in the first round of Thailand Masters to World No 20 Shesar Hiren Rhustavito, Indonesia, on January 22, 2020. B Sai Praneeth, India, remains static at World No 11 with 55,970 points. But, Lakshya Sen, 18, India, has slipped 2 places to be ranked World No 32 with 37,420 points. H S Prannoy, Sourabh Verma, and Sameer Verma, all from India, remain static at World No 27, 28, and 29 respectively. Prannoy and Sameer had lost in the first round of Thailand Masters last week.
