Ara : A youth was shot dead at village Dhangawa  under Tarari police station in Bhojpur District on January 15, 2020. Police arrested  the accused and also seized a Carbine used in the murder.

Later, police brought the body over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. The deceased was identified as Ankit Kumar, 18, son of Mantu Singh of village Dhangawa. Police are camping in the area to maintain law and order. Tension prevails in and around Dhangawa village following the incident.

SHO, Tarari police station, said that two motorcycles were damaged in a collision on January 14, 2020,  evening, and Ankit Singh demanded compensation  from the owner of the other motorcycle that led clash between the two. But the matter resolved with the intervention of locals and both parties agreed to repair the motorcycles of the other.

The SHO  further said that on January 15 both the parties clashed once again that took ugly turn and Ankit Singh was shot dead with a Carbine. The locals caught the shooter Dharmrendra Pal and thrashed him. Meanwhile, the police reached the spot and rescued the injured and admitted him to Ara Sadar Hospital. He  said that police conducted raids at different places and recovered the carbine used in the murder.
