DPS Bokaro Celebrates 32nd Annual Sports Day, Raavi House Emerges Winner

Bokaro (Jharkhand) : The 32nd Annual Sports Day – SAMAGAM of DPS Bokaro in Jharkhand was organised at the school on December 27, 2019, with the theme being ‘Shikshit Bharat, Swaccha Bharat, Sampann Bharat’ in  which  Raavi House got first position  with 962 points followed by Chenab  House with  931 points.  Ganga House with 927  points secured the third position.

Mukul Prasad, Executive Director, Personnel & Administration, BSL, and Pro-Vice Chairman, Managing Committee DPS Bokaro, was the Chief Guest on the occasion.  Principals of different schools of Bokaro were also present on the occasion.

The mega sports event started with an impeccable ‘March Past’ by the six Houses of the school : Sutlej, Chenab, Jamuna, Jhelum, Raavi, and Ganga which was followed by a magnificent field display of ‘Zoomba Drill’ presented by the students from classes III to V.  More than 400 students from classes VI and VII  showcased a perfect blend of synchronisation, balance and discipline in the form of a drill  depicting ‘National Integrity’. There was a beautiful dance performance on the theme ‘Save Nature’ by the students of Deepansh Shiksha Kendra.

Addressing the students, the Chief Guest Mukul Prasad emphasised on the need of sports in developing concentration and skills which further enhance the intelligence quotient. A balanced approach towards sports and academics helps in handling and managing failures keeping an individual emotionally balanced, he said. Thereafter the Chief Guest officially announced the sports day ‘Open’ with the release of balloons.

Principal, DPS Bokaro, A S Gangwar, updated the gathering about the recent awards conferred on the school which he said is due to the joint effort and good wishes of the stakeholders. “To remain on the top, one has to work hard with sincerity and dedication,” he said.

Earlier during the day, the Chief Guest along with A S Gangwar felicitated the winners of various events with medals and certificates. The vote of thanks was proposed by the Vice Head Girl, Tanisha Parmar.
