Patna World No 2 Chen Yu Fei, 21, China, beat World No 1 Tai Tzu Ying, 25, Chinese Taipei, in a three-game thriller in the final to lift the season finale HSBC BWF Would Tour Finals trophy at Guangzhou, China, on December 15, 2019. It was 7th title of Chen Yu Fei on BWF World Tour and 9th overall. She bagged 12,000 BWF rankings points plus the cash prize while Tai Tzu got 10,200 points plus cash prize. Tai Tzu has won 25 career titles.

Chen beat Tai Tzu 12-21, 21-12, 21-17 in 58 minutes rallying back after losing the first game in the final at Tianhe Gymnasium, Guanzhou, China. Chen, who had won prestigious All England Open Championships title in 2019, won 54 rallies in the match to 50 by Tai Tzu. She won 6 consecutive points in the match to 5 by Tai Tzu. Tai Tzu, however,  still leads Chen 14-2 Head to Head.
