Ara : Delhi police, with the help of their Bhojpur counterpart,, conducted raids at village Itimha under Tarari police station on December 13, 2019, to arrest Mantu Giri in connection with loot of about Rs 2 crore from a cash van under South Dwarika police station, Delhi, but he was not found there. Mantu Giri had been jailed twice earlier.

Police sources said that about Rs 2 crore was looted from a cash van under South Dwarika police station on November 22, 2019, and the name of Mantu Giri of Itimha village had figured during investigation into the case. Following mobile phone surveillance, Delhi police reached Ara on December 12, 2019, evening, and with the help of their Bhojpur counterpart, conducted raids at Itimha village to arrest Mantu Giri. The villagers said that Mantu Giri had not been seen at the village for the last several months.
