Patna : Captain Kane Williamson, 29, scored an unbeaten 104 in 234 balls with 11 fours, his 21st test century, while Ross Taylor, 35, scored an unbeaten 105 in 186 balls with 11 fours and 2 sixes, his 19th test ton, as New Zealand (NZ) scored 241/2 in 75 overs on Day 5 to draw the 2nd test against England at Seddon Park, Hamilton, NZ, on December 3, 2019. NZ has not lost a test series at home during last two years.

NZ won the two-match test series 1-0. England captain Joe Root was declared Player of the Match while NZ fast medium bowler Neil Wagner, 33, was declared Player of the Series.

NZ had scored 375 in their first innings with opener Tom Latham, 27, scoring 105, his 11th test century. England had scored 476 in their first innings with captain Joe Root, 28,  scoring 226, his 17th test ton,  and opener Rory Burns,29, scoring 101, his 2nd century, taking a first innings lead of 101.

Resuming at their overnight score of 96/2, New Zealand did not lose any wicket on Day 5 as Williamson and Taylor added another 145 runs to take their unbeaten 3rd wicket stand to 213. Taylor hit a six of Joe Root to score his 21st century. In fact, Taylor hit a four and two sixes on consecutive balls in that over. Heavy rains after lunch  forced an early end to the match.
