Patna :  India were 174/3 in 46 overs at stumps on Day 1 in their first innings in the second test against Bangladesh, a D/N Test, at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, on November 22, 2019, with captain Virat Kohli unbeaten on 59 in 93 balls hitting 8 fours and Ajinkya Rahane batting on 23 in 22 balls with 3 fours.

Cheteswar Pujara fell to fast bowler Ebadat Hossain for 55 in 105 balls with 8 fours making it 137/3. India lead by 68 runs. Opener Rohit Sharma fell to Ebadat Hossain for 21 in 35 balls with 2 fours and a six while his opening partner Mayank Agarwal fell to medium fast bowler Al -Amin for 14. Kohli and Pujara added 94 runs for the 3rd wicket.

Earlier, Indian fast bowlers rocked Bangladesh batting bundeling them out for a paltry 106 in 30.3 overs with opener Shadman Islam scoring 29 and Nayeem Hasan scoring 19. Liton Das retired hurt for 24. Captain Mominul Haque, Mohammad Mithun (wk), and Mushfiqur Rahim got out without scoring.

For India, Ishant Sharma took 5/2 in 12 overs while Umesh Yadav took 3/29 in 7 overs. Mohammad Shami took 2/36 in 10.3 overs. It was Ishant Sharm’s 10th five wicket haul in tests.
