Ara : Bhojpur police have recovered a missing teenage girl from the Punjab and brought her to Ara Sadar Hospital for medical examination on November 15, 2019. Her lover Suraj Kumar escaped but police arrested him too later. Police will produce the girl before an Ara Court on November 16, 2019, to get her statement recorded under section 164 of CrPC.
SHO, Ara Town police station, said that the teenage girl was missing since March 2019 from Waliganj locality under Ara Town police station. When the family members failed to locate the girl, they lodged an FIR with Ara Town police station on November 13, 2019. After institution of FIR, police swung into action and with mobile surveillance succeeded in recovering the girl and arrested her lover Suraj Kumar, son of Umashankar Prasad of Ramgardhia locality under Ara Town police station.
The SHO said that the medical examination of the girl revealed that she was pregnant. The SHO said that Suraj Kumar, originally a resident of Bhagalpur, livedat a rented house at Ramgardhia locality under Ara Town police station. He came in contact with the girl and escaped with her to Punjab. He lived with her for about eight months. The SHO said that Suraj Kumar was sent to jail after interrogation.
