Chas (Jharkhand) : In a move to bring the hidden talent of children in field of art to the fore and promote the Indian cultural, DPS Chas in Bokaro District in Jharkhand, in collaboration with ONGC, organised  a three-day annual Art Festival named “AAKAAR”on the school campus. It was inaugurated on November 7, 2019, by General Manager, ONGC, G B Kishore, in the presence of noted artists form Delhi, Patna, Ranchi, Hazaribagh and Bokaro.

The prominent artists included Pratul Dash (New Delhi), Ramanuj Sekhar (Ranchi), Meenakshi Jha Banerjee (Patna), Hemlata Dutt (Bokaro), Sunil Kumar Modi (Bokaro), Kishore Kumar (New Delhi), Dipankar Karmakar (Ranchi), Mukhi Chowdhury (New Delhi), Alka Kumari (Hazaribagh), Anil Kumar Gope (Bokaro).

The art works created at the art camp will be exhibited on November 9, 2019. More than 200 students from 18 schools of Bokaro and Bermo Sub-Division which includes DPS Bokaro, Chinmaya, Sree Ayyappa Public School, MGM School, Holy Cross, GGPS, Crescent Public School, ARS Public School, Adarsh Vidya Mandir, Bokaro Public School, Carmel School, Leela Janki Public School, SVM, Rukmani Devi Public School, and Mithila Academy are participating at the art festival.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest G B Kishor stated that the keywords for success of a person are ‘Capacity’, ‘Necessity’, and ‘Possibility’ and the student must cultivate the habit of learning and reading. He expressed his happiness over the Art Exhibition, which according to him is mirror of growth and development of a Society.

Welcoming the guests, School Principal Neelkamal Sinha said that despite being in nascent  stage, the school was trying its best to hold such programmes and the art festival ‘Aakar’ is one of them which will definitely empower children by increasing their knowledge in field of art. Earlier Students of DPS Chas presented a welcome song. Pro VC of school N Muralidharan and  Suresh Agrawal were prominent among those attending the programme.
